Quality Assurance

The quality-oriented spirit involves in each unit and the whole organization of PIPE-HIGHWAY(PHF), which guarantees that the final products to be supplied are strictly in accordance with customers’ requirements.

Quality Assurance Plans are composed in accordance with specific requirements by customers and respective international specifications. Mandatory and supplementary requirements are translated to special instructions performed during manufacture and inspection. Inspection and tests carried out during manufacture are recorded in appropriate format for quality tracking purpose.

Organization

A separate Quality Assurance/Control Department functions under the control of management, independent of production. The Quality Assurance Department oversees and monitors all important quality activities and performs the following:

1. Material Control

The incoming material specifications are correlated with Raw Material test certificates of the material. The checks and test are documented. The material is given internal control No. and same is recorded for future reference.

2. Manufacture Control

During forming, Forging and Heat treatment, process control system outlines in-process checks and controls to be followed during heat treatment and testing. 

Each lot of fittings is subjected to heat treatment and testing. Testing is performed in accordance with specification requirements. Test result is evaluated by QA department and recorded in appropriate format, supplementary test like radiography, ultrasonic; magnetic particle testing etc. is done as per code guide lines.

3. Dimensional Control

Suitable fixtures and templates are used to maintain dimensional accuracy. Necessary gauges and calipers are calibrated periodically to maintain their accuracy.

4. Finishing 

For carbon and alloy steel, fittings are shot blasted or painted. For stainless steel, fittings are pickled and passivated, For flanges, they are or oiled or pickled in yellow or black color. For pipes, they are either painted or plain in produced color. All materials are marked with size, schedule, specification and Logo stamp, or as per customers’ requirements.

5. Packing

Fittings and flanges are wrapped with stretch film and suitably put into wooden boxes or pellets, then secured with iron bands and covered with stretch film outside. Pipes are bundled with iron bands with plastic caps on weld ends. All packing manners are suitable for long distance and overseas transportation.

6. Certification

Materials supplied to the Quality Assurance Plans are supplied with manufacturer’s test certificate. MTC incorporates, Chemical, Mechanical and Hardness properties, and also it gives details of Heat treatment. If the customer requires supplementary tests, the respective documents are to be provided as an attachment of the MTC.

Product Outsourcing

For products that are outsourced, factories to supply the products are required to produce under the same quality system with HPPF. Sub-suppliers are periodically audited by HPPF QA personnel to ensure all the products outsourced have the identical quality with ours.
